ARTIST BIO

In my work I attempt to create emotion through re-imagined micro-landscapes. Where contemporary figures are dwarfed by vast landscapes of craggy moss covered rocks, sandy cliff edges, water gulleys, sparse vegetation and tiny alpine flowers. Reminiscent to the work of well known Victorian watercolorists and poets.

Positioned under glass domes and in old rusted tobacco tins, I have tried to modernise the charm of curiosities found in a 19th Century museum collection, whilst also creating a haunting reminder of the depleting natural resources of the modern world.
